As the first female astronomer of Morocco, Dr. Meryem Guennoun, Ph.D., is an accomplished astrophysicist at the Oukaïmeden Observatory of Cadi Ayyad University. She specializes in meteor observations, analysis, and orbit computation, with a particular focus on their parent bodies. In addition to her significant research contributions, she is dedicated to educating aspiring physicists. Beyond academia, Dr. Guennoun wears multiple hats; she serves as the President of the Amateur Astronomers Association of Marrakech, holds a junior membership with the International Astronomical Union (IAU), and sits on the board of the African Network of Women in Astronomy.
